The Colorado Claims Association was started in the early 1900s as a means for insurance professionals to obtain continuing education in the insurance field as well as industry contacts. The Board is made up of by volunteers in the insurance industry.
The CCA holds an annual seminar in the fall of each year to promote education as well as providing continuing education for states that it is needed in, like Wyoming.
The Joseph M. Gates Scholarship provides scholarship award funds for incoming college freshman who are sons, daughters, stepsons and stepdaughters of insurance professionals. Transcripts as well as a 500 word essay written by the applicant are required to apply for these scholarship.
Annual Golf Tournament
In 2016 the Colorado Claims Association started to host an annual golf tournament to raise additional funds for the scholarship recipients.
